Team Overview

Our Product team leads the direction, coordination, output, quality, and enhancements to PowerSchool's product portfolio. This dynamic, multi-functional team ensures the effective rollout of new products across the platform, packages and positions products to appeal to consumers, and helps set the future direction and pace of innovation in our organization.


This position, under the general guidance of the VP, is responsible for driving and executing the direction, coordination, quality and output of the PMO team. This position will be responsible for definition of high-value extensions and enhancements to PowerSchool’s Administration product portfolio. This position will ensure that employeesapply incremental delivery principles to working practices, driving the delivery of value through your teams; communicating progress, eliciting feedback and enabling stakeholder reviews for validation in the process. Additionally, this position will provide leadership and guidance to create a multi-functional team of top level, high-performing product leaders.

ResponsibilitiesDescription

The Product Management team is critical in full lifecycle product planning, delivery, and marketing with the end user in mind.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Monitoring and driving all performance goals
  • Coaching and developing employees
  • Working to increase team efficiency and effectiveness in order to achieve long term goals
  • Participating in hiring of new team members and any HR related tasks
  • Improving organization's performance on delivering products by managing the cross functional development scope
  • Ensuring effective rollout of new products across the platform; package and position ideas and products in ways that uniquely appeal to consumers
  • Managing ongoing feedback loops with learners, partners, enterprises, employees and industry influencers to deliver consumer insights and improve our learner experience and platform services as rapidly and efficiently as possible
  • Providing strong leadership to the product team through intelligent, clear and inspirational communication and a hands-on, passionate approach to the job
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Travel occasionally, up to 10-15%, for key moments such as team summits, training, customer meetings, company events, etc., with increased frequency during peak periods based on business demands.
  • This position is subject to company on call policies which constitutes working hours outside of the normal workday as needed.
  • Experience managing small to midsized teams or functional areas.
  • Excellent ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmen
  • Excellent understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach fellow employees

  • Excellent attention to accuracy and detail, while still results oriented
  • Experience with business analysis, documenting use cases or requirements gathering

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $99,100 - $168,400 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
