Position Overview

The Manager, Procurement Operations is strategic people leader responsible for leading a team dedicated to supporting day-to-day procurement processes. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company policies. With a hyper focus on customer service, data accuracy, and efficient handling, the Manager, Procurement Operations is accountable to enforce procurement strategies, supporting daily transactional activity, driving operational efficiencies, managing daily supplier relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support and enhance procurement performance.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead a world class service organization executing procurement operations, ensuring alignment with category and procurement strategies, business objectives, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop, implement and monitor procurement strategies to drive internal efficiencies via key performance indicators, cost savings, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Develop and implement customer service strategies to ensure business objectives are met, while also ensuring business owners understand where they are in the procurement process, help guide and manage timelines for successful outcomes.
  • Manage and operate all internal customer service, helpdesk, and concierge services for day-to-day requests, including the proper escalation.
  • Establish and optimize process and accountabilities within Procurement Operations that ensure accurate master and transactional data for seamless end to end procurement processing. Examples may include, but not limited to, supplier onboarding and maintenance, Contract and Purchase Order lifecycle management.
  • Manage supplier relationships which may result in negotiating contracts, shepherding spot bids, and ensuring long-term partnerships align with company goals.
  • Optimize procurement processes through automation, technology, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the greater Procurement organization, finance, legal, and business units to ensure seamless procurement execution and process optimization.
  • Support and implement new and innovative initiatives to drive improved performance.
  • Establish, track key, and improve performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical practices, and procurement policies, standards and procedures.
  • Support the facilitation and rollout of new or modified policies and procedures based on industry best practices and compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities.

  • Strong documentation, attention-to-detail, and procedure writing skills suitable for a GMP environment.

  • Ability to develop, transfer, and thoroughly document new processes and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, present, and convey complex problems or issues within and across other functions.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between various locations.
  • Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in a role or a field related to the essential duties of this role.
  • 6+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Procurement (examples include sourcing, third party risk management, contracting lifecycle management, procurement, and contingent labor).
  • 4+ years of direct Procurement leadership experience.
  • Experience with procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar platforms).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong working knowledge with 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and/or cGMP structured environments.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Blackbelt, Prosci, CPSM, Coupa.
  • Experience in change management, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous process improvement,
  • Experience in ERP and/or Source to Pay system deployment, cut over activities, including but not limited to contingent labor systems.

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $174,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
