The Opportunity: 

Are you a People Ops professional looking to grow in your career, and support a mission focused organization? EV Passport, the platform for purpose-driven organizations, supporting brands committed to sustainability who want to give their customers the most seamless payment experience to charge any electric vehicle, is looking for a People Ops Manager to support our organization in our next phase of growth and success. 

In partnership with our General Counsel, you will lead and manage the full spectrum of HR Functions while driving key strategic programs to support our business goals. You will utilize your leadership acumen, HR knowledge and customer focused nature to roll up your sleeves and drive people-forward practices to support strategic business outcomes. 

This role sits onsite in our Santa Monica office, with a global team supporting our R&D team in Barcelona.  

What You’ll Do:

This role combines traditional HR management responsibilities with a focus on people operations to enhance employee experience through growth and development, drive talent acquisition and development, and promote organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This role will also have tremendous growth opportunity and access to fully support our senior leadership to drive strategic people initiatives.

HR Team Management: 

  • Manage an HR team of 2 focused on HR operations, recruitment and culture initiatives 
  • Coach, mentor and drive strong performance across the team. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the HR function, driving strong collaborative partnerships throughout the business operations functions including IT, Finance and Legal.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

  • Manage our talent acquisition process, overseeing the full-cycle recruitment and pre-boarding process. 
  • Design and implement a process that can scale as we grow including; job postings, sourcing strategies and tools, interviewing process and ensure seamless handoffs for candidate pre-boarding and onboarding. 
  • Partner with hiring managers to attract and identify talent aligned with our vision, mission and values. 

Talent Management: 

  • Manage all aspects of our performance management philosophy and approach including; design and delivery of our performance review and goal setting process, providing coaching and tools to managers for effective performance management, and ensuring we have a structured approach to career development. 
  • Build a culture of learning and development through; Identifying training needs and proposing programs to support those needs, coordinating engaging workshops and development opportunities to upskill our workforce, building and maintaining a best in class onboarding program, and continuously evaluating and improving training programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on all HR-related matters through; collaborating with leaders to align HR initiatives with strategic objectives, and provide guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
  • Build a strong culture of employee engagement through both programs, practices and ongoing relationship building at all levels of the organization. Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with our values and act as a trusted adviser addressing concerns with fairness and consistency. 

HR Operations: 

  • Manage and advise on EVPassport’s Total Rewards programming including; oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness, lead regular reviews of salary structures and incentive programs and provide guidance on salary negotiations and promotions.
  • Ensure we maintain compliance across our policies and practices through; developing and enforcing HR policies that are compliant with legal requirements and reflect industry best practices, regularly audit and ensure adherence to labor laws, and ensure multi-state and international compliance for our geographically diverse workforce.
  • Manage all HR tools and systems and ensure deep utilization to drive data-informed decisions including building and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership on a regular cadence. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in HR Management or senior people operations roles; 7+ years of total related experience. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing HR teams, inclusive of oversight of talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Rippling is our HRIS) and Google Suite
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus
  • Start-up experience strongly preferred—we value team members who can navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

We expect the Salary for this role to be between $130,000 - $150,000. Placement within this base salary range depends upon several factors, including prior relevant job experience and skill set.
