About this role
Join Grant Thornton’s growing Outsourced CFO Services team, as a Manager, part of our national Private Enterprise practice. We partner with dynamic, mid‑market clients to elevate their finance capability, deliver commercial insights, and drive business performance.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders including our national Outsourced CFO Partner group, who advise clients across sectors on strategic finance uplift, board reporting, cashflow optimisation, financial modelling, and end‑to‑end finance transformation. Recent engagements include designing scalable finance functions for high‑growth businesses, implementing cloud‑based finance systems, and providing CFO‑level insight to founders and boards.
This is a key growth role in an established but expanding service offering, based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
Lead client finance strategy and deliver CFO‑level advice
Shape finance functions and design scalable operating models
Present insights to boards, owners and C‑suite
Build commercial dashboards and drive data‑led decisions
Guide finance system design and transformation
Strengthen client relationships and identify growth opportunities
Support business development and expand service offering
Skills & experience
Previous experience in professional services, ideally within Business Services, Audit, or Consulting
Commercial finance or Finance Business Partner experience in a commercial setting
Confident presenting to boards, CFOs and business owners
Strong tech capability and influence across stakeholders
Leadership and oversight of finance professionals
Degree in accounting/finance; CA or CPA qualified
