About the role
DESRI is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join its team as an engineer focused on energy storage. This role offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging working environment while championing DESRI’s brand as an industry leader.
What you'll do
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of energy storage assets. You’ll be tasked with collaborating with the engineering, procurement, and construction teams as projects mature by engaging in contract negotiations, developing analytical capabilities, providing due diligence coordination, and optimizing layout and project designs. In addition, you’ll maintain a technical library to conduct due diligence on various suppliers and you’ll provide technical input to supplier sizing and designs. You’ll provide technical support to various teams, including development, origination, financing, and insurance, by handling RFP technical submissions and review specifications. In this role, you’ll support land use collaboration and provide technical assistance for offtake agreements, including operating conditions and performance testing.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is required.
- Intellectually curious candidates with a passion for optimization and proven experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS) within the renewable energy industry will thrive in this role.
- Impressive analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail are required.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and experience in a role involving multitasking and problem solving in a fast-paced environment is highly preferred.
- At DESRI, we consider a wide range of factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The expected annual base salary for this position is $150,000 to $180,000.
- Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
