As part of our continued growth, we are looking to expand our Operations team in São Paulo.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, Americas we are looking for an Experienced Manager, Operations responsible for the day-to-day operating of the vessels within their region of responsibility while working within company policy guidelines and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities:
Voyage Planning
- Thorough and timely review of the “Voyage and Time Charter” contracts requirements pertaining to his/her voyages
- Optimal voyage planning with a high focus on maximizing revenue and minimizing costs
Voyage Management
- Managing voyage and time charter post fixture matters
- Provide detailed voyage instructions to the Masters
- Appoint and instruct agents, surveyors, stevedores, & weather routing company
- Management of voyage and time charter disputes
- Daily accuracy of Veson VIP schedules (including Sub Time Charter voyages)
- Proper implementation and execution of all company and department policies and procedures
Documentation
- Timely preparation of freight billings, hire payments, vetting of DA’s and miscellaneous vendors invoices
- Perform various clerical tasks, including active and post-voyage analysis (financial and statistical)
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet operations
- Sea-going experience is an asset
- University degree, an asset
- knowledge of the bulk shipping industry
- Knowledge of Maritime Operating System such as Veson VIP, an asset
- Organized, fast worker, possessing the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Inquisitive and logical
- Results driven and strong problem solver
- Ability to build relationships and develop trust
- *Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Flexible to work outside of office hours
- Proficient with MS Office, Outlook and SEDNA or other collaboration technology tools
