About the Department
The Strategy & Executive Office (SEO) drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Inc. The Strategy & Executive Office is responsible for setting the strategic direction for NNI and drive pull through of that strategy by partnering with senior leaders across the value chain." (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk. The SEO team collaborates and partners with groups across U.S. Operations, Research & Early Development, Development, innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. We're looking for individuals who are enterprise thinkers, inclusive leaders, and strong collaborators, as we embark on shaping our future.
The Position
Be a part of building an internal consulting capability from the ground up! Join Novo Nordisk Inc., in this entrepreneurial journey to develop an in-house consulting team to fuel executive priority projects!
This newly formed NNI Consulting Team will allow the Enterprise to remain nimble while providing the support needed to ensure we meet our strategic objectives and drive high value initiatives forward. The Manager role will drive project execution for Enterprise priorities and support departmental goals, as outlined below.
Relationships
Reports to the Director of Consulting.
Key stakeholders include: NNI Executive Team (in conjunction with NNI Consulting senior leadership), Strategy and Executive office teams, Global Novo Nordisk Consulting Team.
Essential Functions

  • Project Execution:
    • Takes ownership of a projects or work streams (increasing degree of complexity and scope) with support from NNI Consulting senior leadership
    • Identifies, structures and prioritizes issues, applies hypotheses and drives problem solving sessions
    • Prepares project plans with clear milestones, delegates responsibilities and meets commitments (high quality output within budget) with support from NNI Consulting senior leadership
    • Facilitates data gathering and conducts interviews with internal and external input providers with support from NNI Consulting senior leadership
    • Drives or delegates quantitative and qualitative analyses, which are translated into clear fact-based recommendations from which decisions can be made
    • Prepares storyline using conscious application of structured communication approaches (e.g. top-down vs. bottom-up) with support from NNI Consulting senior leadership
    • Drives anchoring of solution with key stakeholders with support from NNI Consulting senior leadership
  • Department Support:
    • Participates in Novo Nordisk Consulting's recruitment team
    • Participates in and contributes to department meetings and other internal Novo Nordisk wide and department specific activities
  • Other areas of responsibility:
    • Develops and motivates Graduate/Intern members of the team
    • Provides upwards feedback to senior colleagues and takes responsibility for own development e.g. by responding constructively to feedback
    • Coaches more junior colleagues (e.g. interns) and participants from client organization
    • Participates in internal and external training
    • Challenges colleagues in a constructive way and at the right time to achieve results, demonstrate drive, initiative, and a can-do attitude (both internally and in project settings)


Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's in commercial, economic, scientific, engineering or a related field is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional relevant experience is required. Master's and/or advanced degree preferably MBA can be substituted for up to 2 years of required work experience when appropriate. Master's degree, preferably MBA, with commercial, economic, scientific, or engineering focused undergraduate degree
  • A minimum of 1 year of proven project and/or consulting experience is required
  • Prior experience from full/part time role in tier 1 consultancies is highly beneficial but not a prerequisite
  • Experience working with consulting and financial frameworks and approaches
  • Structured top-down written and oral communication
  • Powerful/assertive presentation skills
  • Strong analytical visualization skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using PC tools (PowerPoint and Excel) is required
  • Strong language skills in English (written and orally)
  • Flexible in terms of working under tight deadlines and ambiguity/ changing circumstances
