Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering banking, wealth and investment solutions to more than 10 million personal and small business customers across Australia.


Within RBS, the Insurance Retail & Advice Partnerships (IRAP) team supports the distribution of insurance products and advice referrals that help customers build financial wellbeing and confidence for the future.


As Manager Line 1 Risk, Wealth and Private you'll join a collaborative and high-performing team that partners closely with the business to enable better risk decisions and stronger customer outcomes. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Chapter Lead Wealth & Private Risk, you'll play an influential role in supporting the business to manage risk effectively while continuing to grow and evolve.

Do work that matters

As a trusted risk partner, you'll provide guidance, challenge and support to help the business operate within risk appetite while achieving its strategic objectives.

You'll:

  • Partner with stakeholders across Wealth Partnerships to provide practical risk advice and guidance.
  • Identify, monitor and support the resolution of incidents, issues and emerging risks.
  • Challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement in risk management practices.
  • Design and strengthen controls that protect customers and improve business outcomes.
  • Support risk governance activities, including risk profiling, monitoring and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to manage risk across multiple products and customer solutions.
  • Help leaders make informed decisions through balanced commercial and risk-based recommendations.

  • Experience in risk advisory, operational risk, compliance, governance or controls management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • The confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders while building strong working relationships.
  • A proactive mindset focused on finding solutions, not just identifying problems.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, wealth management, superannuation or related environments. Experience from a Big 4 consulting firm or financial services regulator is highly sought after and will be viewed favourably
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to balance risk outcomes with business objectives.
