We are seeking an experienced IAM Operations Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operational control structure within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) function. This role will focus on provisioning, deprovisioning, user access reviews, and ensuring readiness for internal and external audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk and control frameworks, operational excellence, and a firm understanding of IAM best practices.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and oversee daily IAM operations, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access review processes across applications and infrastructure.
Implement and maintain a strong control environment, ensuring all identity-related controls are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
Serve as the point of contact for all audit and compliance activities related to IAM, including internal, external, and regulatory reviews.
Ensure all controls (e.g., SoD, least privilege, periodic access certifications) are tested and documented effectively.
Work closely with the risk and compliance teams to remediate identified gaps and improve the control structure.
Monitor and report on operational KPIs, SLAs, and issue remediation related to IAM processes.
Drive continuous improvement of IAM operational processes by identifying automation opportunities and process enhancements.
Collaborate with IT, HR, and business units to align IAM operations with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date documentation for all IAM procedures, workflows, and control evidence.
Lead and mentor a small team of IAM analysts or specialists (if applicable).
Experience needed for the role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
7+ years of experience in IT or cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years focused on IAM operations.
Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks (e.g., SOX, SOC2, ISO 27001).
Hands-on experience with IAM tools and technologies (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Azure AD, etc.).
Proven track record in supporting audit and compliance reviews with clear evidence and narratives.
Knowledge of Segregation of Duties (SoD), Least Privilege, Access Certifications, and RBAC models.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or IAM-specific credentials preferred.
Experience working in regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, or financial services, preferred.
Familiarity with agile and ITIL processes in operations.
The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000USD to $130,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
