Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of General Manufacturing 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the manufacturing activities of a given cost center including safety, quality, factory accountability, cost and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, coaching, and day-to-day leadership to frontline managers and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure team members receive required training and prepare daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
  • Encourage and support employee career development, including educational options for highly motivated team members.
  • Provide leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. 
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities. 
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. 
  • Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing organization quality objectives. 
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 11 years’ experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment; additional education may be considered in lieu of experience
  • 3 years of experience in supervisory and/or management role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to effectively communicate and present presentations with various levels of leadership
  • Must be willing to work on any of the following schedules:
    • Monday – Thursday, 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm)
    • Monday – Thursday, 2nd shift (4:12 pm - 2:42 am)
    • Friday – Sunday, 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm)
    • Friday – Sunday,2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree
  • High-Rate Manufacturing experience
  • Previous  Manufacturing Manager Experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $217,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
