Month end closing:
- Manage the month end closing process for various entities
- Review journal entries prepared by team members
- Review reconciliations prepared by team members to ensure no unusual balances are left in Balance Sheet
- Review of financials for completeness and accuracy during month end closing
- Review and approve GL maintenance requests received from FP&A or Business
Tax & Statutory:
- Review VAT calculations
- Provide necessary supporting data for VAT filings
- Review reconciliation of VAT data with VAT Returns filed
- Review statutory calculations and journals
- Support Tax and Statutory audits
Reporting:
- Review of reconciliation of financials between ERP and Consolidation tool
- Review of Cash Flow statements, audit packs and schedules for multiple entities
Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Review of Balance Sheet GL accounts prepared by team members
- Ensure the aging is within agreed threshold
- Ensure timely clearance of open items within agreed timeframe
- Escalate with relevant action owners to timely resolve open items
Compliance:
- Periodic review and update of Control documents and Risk Control matrix
- Adherence to compliance in all activities and ensure zero deficiencies
Other activities:
- Prepare and present KPI dashboards
- Research complex accounting issues for accounting compliance
- Support any projects assigned
- Support internal, external and statutory audits by providing required documentation and explanation
- Support any ad hoc process requirements from customer
- Preparation and periodic maintenance of process documentation
- Ensure continuous improvements in the process
- Manage both local and global stakeholders as well as external professionals
- Handle appraisal of direct reportees and provide feedback, development plan, etc.
Required Education:
- Graduate in Commerce or Accounting
- Post Graduation, ICWA, CA or any Masters Degree would be added advantage
Required Experience:
- 12+ years of accounting experience (in a hybrid of core accounting and shared services environment)
- 5+ years of team handling experience
- Strong accounting knowledge, good understanding on US GAAP and IFRS
- Prior experience of working in shared services / BPO industry would be a plus
- Working experience in SAP would be an added advantage
- Working experience in consolidation tool (BPC, Hyperion, etc.) would be an added advantage
- Good understanding of Chart of accounts, cost objects
- Willingness to work in EU and US time zones and accept to deliver in stringent timelines
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively work across functional boundaries to bring tasks to successful conclusion
- Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills with stakeholders and other colleagues
- Excellent MS office suite skills (Excel, PPT, Word)
