Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Manage and Develop Talent: manage and mentor a team of software engineers located in Vietnam and Seattle, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Guide Technical Excellence: Facilitate technical discussions, promote sound engineering practices, and guiding the team in making pragmatic decisions.
- Lead Team Upskilling: Lead the professional growth and upskilling of your engineers to meet the challenges of our technology evolution. A key part of your role will be developing your team's expertise in Golang, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture as we make this critical transition.
- Grow the Team: Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, support the career growth of your team members, and recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
- Core Services & Anti-fraud Innovation:
- Lead a Foundational Shift: Champion the migration from a monolithic architecture to a modern, microservices-based ecosystem, enabling greater agility and faster development cycles.
- Drive Architectural Strategy: Drive key architectural decisions in our transition to microservices, including technology selection, service decomposition strategy, and defining best practices for our future Golang-based distributed services. Your vision will directly shape the foundation of our core platform for years to come.
- Collaborate for Impact: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, other engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that protect our customers from fraud.
- Innovate in Anti-Fraud: Lead the Engine Modernization initiative, overseeing the architecture and development of high-availability distributed services in Golang that form the backbone of our new anti-fraud platform.

Who You Are
- Proven Leader: You have 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- Technically Adept: You have a strong background in software development, with hands-on experience in building and operating distributed systems. Experience with Golang is a significant plus.
- Architectural Vision: You have experience with microservices architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.), and the challenges of migrating from monolithic systems.
- Excellent Communicator: You can clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and can foster a culture of open communication.
- Product-Focused: You are passionate about building products that solve real-world problems for customers.
Bonus Points
- Experience building products that enable business users to define and manage rules for real-time execution.
- Familiarity with geolocation spoofing techniques and anti-fraud measures.
