As a Manager, Connected Commerce Content Strategy & Operations supporting US Vision Care Marketing OTC team, you will be trusted advance Alcon OTC's Connected Commerce agenda by building and scaling the content capabilities that power experiences across key omnichannel retailers, retail media networks, and other emerging commerce platforms. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Connected Commerce, this role will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Creative Agencies, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, and external content partners to ensure content is optimized, compliant, syndicated, and activated effectively across an evolving commerce landscape. The Manager will be responsible for developing scalable content frameworks, building content operations, managing digital asset capabilities, and driving continuous improvement through a disciplined test-and-learn approach.


The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, operational rigor, and strong cross-functional leadership to help elevate Alcon's brands through best-in-class commerce content while enabling efficient execution across retailer and retail media ecosystems. This is onsite at our Fort Worth, TX Location.

 

In this role, a typical day will include:

Content Strategy & Framework Development

  • Develop and maintain content frameworks, standards, and best practices that support brand objectives, retailer requirements, and shopper needs across commerce channels.
  • Develop content standards that improve discoverability and representation across traditional search, retailer search algorithms, AI assistants, Large Language Models (LLMs), and emerging agentic shopping experiences.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing and agency teams to develop content strategies that improve discoverability, shopper understanding, conversion, and brand credibility and consistency.
  • Translate content performance data, shopper insights, and retailer-specific learnings into recommendations that strengthen brand and commerce activation plans.
  • Establish scalable processes for incorporating emerging content formats, retailer capabilities, and commerce trends into content planning and execution.
  • Partner with digital and data teams to ensure product content is structured, accurate, and optimized for AI-powered commerce environments.

Content Testing, Learning & Scale

  • Develop and manage a robust content experimentation framework to evaluate new content approaches, creative formats, retailer capabilities, syndication opportunities, and emerging technologies.
  • Partner with Retail Media, Analytics, and agency teams to define test hypotheses, measurement approaches, success metrics, and learning objectives.
  • Identify high-value opportunities for experimentation and prioritize initiatives based on potential business impact, scalability, and strategic alignment.
  • Translate test results into content playbooks, best practices, and bar-raising standards that can be scaled across brands, retailers, and customer plans.
  • Partner with Brand teams to operationalize successful learnings and embed proven approaches into annual planning and activation processes.
  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to quantify the impact of content investments on discoverability, engagement, conversion, sales, and shopper experience.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms that translate content performance into actionable business insights and investment recommendations.

Content Operations & Governance

  • Build and optimize content workflows that enable efficient creation, review, approval, deployment, and maintenance of commerce content.
  • Navigate cross-functional approval processes involving Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, Medical, and other stakeholders while balancing speed, compliance, and quality.
  • Establish ways of working that improve consistency, accountability, and execution across content initiatives.
  • Develop processes and tools that maximize visibility, prioritization, and management of content requests, updates, and deployment timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in content operations through process optimization, operational metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Partner with Retail Media and agency teams to develop scalable creative frameworks that maximize the effectiveness of retail media content and ad experiences.
  • Ensure alignment between owned content, syndicated content, and retail media creative assets.
  • Develop frameworks that enable efficient adaptation and deployment of content across retailers, markets, formats, and shopper touchpoints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve content reuse and reduce content production redundancy.

Retailer, RMN & Syndication Enablement

  • Develop scalable approaches for leveraging generative AI while ensuring regulatory compliance, brand consistency, and content quality.
  • Establish processes and standards that enable AI-generated content to be effectively reused, adapted, and activated across commerce channels.
  • In partnership with media agencies, monitor evolving retailer and retail media network requirements, content specifications, ad formats, moderation policies, and publishing standards.
  • Develop scalable approaches that enable teams to efficiently adapt content to changing retailer and platform requirements.
  • Manage relationships with syndication providers and content technology partners to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely content distribution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the commerce content ecosystem and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Lead evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled content creation, optimization, localization, and governance capabilities.
  • Stay informed on emerging content technologies, AI-enabled content capabilities, syndication solutions, and industry trends, bringing forward recommendations for testing and adoption.

Digital Asset Management (DAM)

  • Serve as business owner for the Digital Asset Management ecosystem and associated content processes.
  • Establish standards for asset organization, metadata, taxonomy, accessibility, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure content assets are maintained, discoverable, compliant, and readily available to support business needs.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption of DAM best practices and improve asset utilization across the organization.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a key liaison across Brand Marketing, Retail Media, Sales, Creative, agencies, and platform partners.
  • Create alignment across stakeholders on content priorities, timelines, dependencies, and decision-making processes.
  • Influence adoption of content standards, best practices, and scalable operating models within a matrixed organization.
  • Bring a commerce content point of view to planning discussions, helping stakeholders make informed decisions about investments, priorities, and content opportunities.

Technical Capabilities

  • Experience with product content ecosystems including DAM, PIM, syndication platforms, retailer portals, and retail media environments.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered content solutions, content automation platforms, and emerging commerce technologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs. Assoc.+9 yrs.; M.S.+2 yrs.; PhD+0 yrs.) 
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in content strategy, content operations, commerce marketing, digital marketing, content syndication, digital asset management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience developing and managing scalable content processes, ways of working, or operational frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of commerce content principles, digital shelf fundamentals, and retailer content ecosystems.
  • Experience working with content syndication platforms like Syndigo, DAM systems, and content management technologies.
  • Experience navigating complex cross-functional review and approval processes.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to translate insights and performance data into practical recommendations and process improvements.
  • Experience working within consumer healthcare, OTC, CPG, beauty, wellness, or other consumer-focused industries preferred.
