In India, we operate as Next Gear India Private Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of Cotality with offices in Kolkata, West Bengal, and Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Next Gear India Private Limited plays a vital role in Cotality's Product Development capabilities, focusing on creating and delivering innovative solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance and Property Restoration industries.

The OpportunityAt Cotality, our leaders are technical powerhouses who lead from the front. As the Manager of Configuration Implementation, you will be the primary technical authority for our Kolkata delivery hub. This role requires a seasoned veteran who can balance high-level team leadership with deep-dive technical execution. You will master our internal systems, architect complex client flows for Validate and Scope, and ensure your team is delivering world-class accuracy.
What You’ll Actually DoTechnical Orchestration: Act as the ultimate "Subject Matter Expert" for Cotality’s proprietary tools. You are the architect who designs how the system should handle the most complex business logic.
Global Strategic Alignment: Work closely with US-based leadership to translate high-level business goals into actionable technical requirements for the Kolkata hub.
"Player/Coach" Execution: Maintain a personal workload of the most mission-critical configuration tickets. You don't just manage the queue; you are a key contributor to it.
Technical Mentorship & Standard Setting: You own the technical growth and quality standards of the 2 Consultants and 4 Analysts. You will conduct logic reviews and develop documentation to ensure zero-defect delivery.
User & System Administration: Oversee administrative oversight across multiple systems, ensuring that permissioning and security standards are strictly enforced across the team.
Continuous Improvement: Leverage your decade-plus of experience to identify bottlenecks in our configuration process and implement automated solutions using SQL, C#, and Python.
Location: Kolkata Office.
Working Hours: 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST.
Hybrid Model: You will be in the office for the first half of the day, 3 days a week, and log back in from home to finish the shift.
Job Qualifications:
Job QualificationsExperience: 10–12+ years in technical configuration, software implementation, or systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior mentorship capacity.
Advanced Technical Stack: Expert-level proficiency in SQL, C#, and Python. You must have a deep understanding of software architecture to troubleshoot complex data relationships and system behaviors.
Markup Mastery: Expert-level ability to audit and optimize XML and JSON configurations.
System Logic Expertise: A proven track record of building and managing complex conditional logic and automated workflow "flows" at scale.
Operational Leadership: Proven ability to manage a high-volume ticket environment while simultaneously overseeing the technical output of a multi-tiered team.
Strategic Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering and operational goals, ensuring the hub remains aligned with global objectives.
