The Communications Team is responsible for upholding the company’s reputation and driving the company’s narratives with the objectives of increasing positive conversation, engagement, and sentiments toward the company. Whether speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, or the wider community, the Communications Team is the voice and gatekeeper of Grab.
As a strategic partner to various business functions in Grab, the Communications Team helps to drive their business objectives by ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders understand and support Grab’s vision and business strategy, including but not limited to corporate partnerships, new products, partner programs, marketing campaigns, and internal programs.

As Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, Grab’s core businesses include mobility, food, package and grocery delivery services, mobile payments, and financial services. We are looking for an agile, self-motivated, and creative individual who will lead proactive public relations campaigns, who is passionate about the fast-moving changes technology enables, and the positive impact it can create for people in Indonesia.
The Manager, Communications will work with key stakeholders from business, marketing, and public affairs teams to develop communications strategies, and execute PR plans to drive business goals and make Grab a relatable brand to our stakeholders, including the government.
The day-to-day activities:

Create, implement and manage public relations programs that are in line with the company’s vision and business objectives

Monitor legislation and policy activities, and work with the Public Affairs team to analyze the potential impact on the company

Oversee PR program in Grab Indonesia territories

Proactively pitch stories and create multi-format content to promote Grab

Organize events and other activities to support the company’s government relations goals

Manage our media and influencer advocacy program

Manage and pre-empt issues and crises
-
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Grab business stakeholders and management, and manage their profiling

Manage the PR agency according to budget and business requirements

Analyze metrics to determine the output and value of PR results and use the data as a critical planning tool
Qualifications
The must-haves:
-
About 8+ years of experience in public relations; government and corporate PR experience preferred

Strong working knowledge of Public Affairs principles and practices

Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including government relations, legal, product, marketing, and partnership teams

Excellent command of Indonesian and English (written and spoken)

Experience working in a high growth company and fast-paced environment

Experience working in a regional and integrated team advantageous

A creative and collaborative self-starter who can work independently, hands-on team player, and self-motivated

Strategic thinking and inherent drive and curiosity to push new angles and ideas
