The Manager, Change & Communications is responsible for leading the design and execution of change management and communication strategies that enable successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the Financial Planning (FP) Program Office within the Specialized Sales Group.

This role acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring that change initiatives are effectively planned, communicated, and adopted across the FP salesforce. The mandate includes driving readiness, minimizing disruption to productivity, and maximizing adoption of new programs, tools, and operational changes.

Key AccountabilitiesChange Strategy & Delivery
  • Lead the end-to-end change management lifecycle for strategic initiatives, including impact assessments, readiness evaluations, planning, execution, and sustainment.
  • Develop and manage integrated change strategies aligned to business priorities and salesforce needs.
  • Proactively identify change risks and resistance; implement mitigation strategies to support adoption and minimize disruption to sales productivity.
  • Provide strategic advice to business leads during project planning to ensure change implications are understood and addressed early.
Communications Strategy & Execution
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication plans designed to influence behaviour, build awareness, and drive engagement.
  • Develop clear, targeted messaging tailored to diverse audiences (FPs, MLFPs, RVPFPs, and executive stakeholders).
  • Deliver communications across multiple channels, including leadership calls, newsletters, intranet, targeted emails, and national forums.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment of messaging across all initiatives and stakeholders.
Salesforce Enablement
    • Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
    • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
    • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
    • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
    • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
    • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
    • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
    • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
    • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
    • Coordinates the management of databases; ensures alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
    • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
    • Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
    • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
    • Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
    • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
    • Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
    • Identifies business needs, designs/develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences.
    • Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
    • Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.
    • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
    • Develops and manages a business/group program.
    • Prepares or leads execution of communications and change management plans to implement new processes, products, and sales campaigns into the sales force.
    • Acts as a single point of contact during implementation to prioritize and manage workflows.
    • Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends, and recommends enhancements; implements changes.
    • Develops sales force and marketing programs tools and delivers training programs.
    • Coaches employees to drive the most business value from sales force and marketing programs.
    • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
    • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
    • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
    • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
    • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    $69,000.00 - $129,000.00

    Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

    BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
