Job Purpose/Overview
 

To support SDx’s strategic growth initiatives through the evaluation, coordination, and execution of inorganic opportunities and strategic partnerships. The Manager of Business Development partners cross-functionally to help drive M&A activities, partnership evaluations, strategic analyses, and post-close integration support across SDx.

The Target Pay Range for this position is as follows:
• Viernheim, Germany: 77,280 EUR - 96,600 EUR annually
• New York City, NY: $108,360 - $135,450 annually
At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

The Manager of Business Development supports inorganic growth initiatives within SDx by partnering closely with Mars Corporate Development and internal cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for supporting the evaluation and execution of M&A projects, strategic partnerships, market analyses, and governance activities to help ensure successful transaction execution and strategic alignment.
Corp Dev Projects: Support evaluation, project management, and tracking of M&A projects in partnership with Mars Corporate Development and SDx leadership. Responsibilities include coordinating due diligence activities, supporting financial modeling and valuation analyses, preparing executive materials, and facilitating cross-functional stakeholder coordination throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Strategic Analysis: Conduct market, competitive, and financial analyses to support business development priorities and strategic decision-making. This includes synthesizing industry trends, identifying growth opportunities, evaluating strategic fit, and supporting development of business cases and investment recommendations.
Business Development Partnerships: Support the identification, evaluation, and advancement of strategic partnership opportunities in collaboration with R&D, Medical, Commercial, and Strategy teams. This includes coordinating partner discussions, supporting negotiations, tracking partnership activities, and assisting with governance and execution planning.
Post-Close Governance & Integration: Support post-close activities for acquisitions and partnerships, including governance tracking, integration coordination, deal-related payment management, and partnership milestone execution in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and business teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across SDx, Mars Corporate Development, Finance, Legal, R&D, Commercial, and Operations teams to help drive alignment, execution discipline, and strategic outcomes across business development initiatives.
 

Education and Experience
 

A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field and ideally 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, strategy, consulting, corporate development, investment banking, or related fields.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 

Financial and business acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, business operations, and strategic analysis. Experience supporting financial modeling, valuation analyses, and business case development.
Project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, and maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Communication and collaboration skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
Analytical and strategic thinking: Ability to synthesize complex information, evaluate market dynamics, identify insights, and support strategic recommendations.
Relationship management skills: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Industry and market awareness: Understanding of healthcare, diagnostics, veterinary, or related industry trends preferred.
