What is the opportunity?
Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. They are among a small group of highly rated global banks and are recognized time and time again for our financial strength, market leadership and philanthropic work.
Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
What will you do?
- Maintain and develop new / enhance existing controls
- Collaborate with the COE to ensure timely and accurate financial accounts are delivered
- Collaborate with Business Partners to investigate NIE trends
- Internal / HO reporting
- Balance Sheet reconciliations review and PEGA attestation
- Internal and external audit support
- Coordination and preparation of Finance and Tax Risk packs
- Preparation of BRAG quarterly updates
- Recommending and implementing enhancements to existing reporting practices, controls and processes, closing the gaps
- Deep dive o the financials and accounts usage
- Preparation of all supporting documentation, schedules and reconciliations required
- Responsibility for preparation of procedure manuals following the review and enhancement of the processes / reports / controls.
- AU and APAC projects as assigned
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Qualified Accountant CA, CPA or Qualified by Experience
- Industry experience
- Financial control experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Sound accounting experience
- Excellence in working with various applications to extract data, manipulate and analyse reports
- Accurate and methodical with ability to verify/proof numbers on reports
- Critical to be a good cultural fit for the team / good interpersonal and team skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to complete assigned tasks within reporting deadlines
Nice-to-have
- Highly developed PC skills - Microsoft programs
- Competent PC skills
- Self motivated, with a professional attitude and presentation
- Good written communication skills, verbal reasoning and listening skills
