This is a mid-level Manager position on our Analytics team with a core responsibility of analyzing marketing data to provide actionable insights and optimization to improve upon client business objectives. This person will manage analysts, while supporting digital and offline channel optimization, including but not limited to measurement plan development, test design of experiments, regular and ad hoc campaign reporting and analysis. This role will also help advance the team’s use of AI-enabled tools and approaches to improve analytics workflows, insight generation, and client deliverables. The role will also contribute to new business efforts by supporting pitch strategy, developing analytics POVs, and presenting measurement recommendations to prospective clients.

While this is a remote position, periodic travel and accommodating meetings in different time zones is expected. Preference may be given to candidates in Central or Eastern time zones.

What does a Manager, Analytics do at Rain?

  • Support media optimization initiatives for digital and offline channels
    • Manage, train, and mentor team to grow capabilities of existing team members
    • Strategic analytics lead on key pieces of client business; owning measurement plan development, methodology execution, insight presentation to the internal teams and clients
    • Help with generating Test and Learn Plans
    • Design, develop, and update dashboards that enable internal and client audiences to view campaign performance and key performance trends
    • Mine robust granular data sets, and develop analyses to explain what happened and why
    • Produce performance reports (e.g. scorecards, dashboards, ad-hoc reports) for clients, and ability to recognize and troubleshoot data anomalies
    • Assist with ad-hoc marketing campaign analyses, mining for deep insights that will drive business results and inform strategic planning and optimization
    • Ensure data integrity by leveraging media analytics reporting suites (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Campaign Manager, Adverity, Tableau, The Trade Desk, iSpot, InnovidXP, and other analytics platforms)
    • Collaborate with Ad Operations to ensure accuracy of tagging and reporting

  • Contribute to Solution Creation
    • Work to integrate new tools and stay on top of industry trends in Analytics and Predictive Modeling to best support the agency
    • Evaluate and apply AI-enabled tools, automation, and emerging analytics approaches to improve efficiency, insight quality, and scalability of client reporting and analysis
    • Lead improvement projects to revamp existing tools and appropriately beta test internally and with clients
    • Collaborate with agency account teams to identify opportunities for solutions and translate into analytics requirements and end deliverables
    • Support new business pitches by helping shape analytics strategy, measurement approaches, test-and-learn recommendations, and data-driven points of differentiation for prospective clients

  • Develop strong partnerships and collaboration with internal team member and clients
    • Assist Media Planners to develop actionable insight beyond standard reporting to drive strategic marketing direction
      • Present project-specific findings, recommendations, and performance narratives to internal and client team members; collect feedback to refine future analysis and help clients understand implications for optimization and strategy.
    • Understand client business and marketing goals, and translate into appropriate optimization and/analysis techniques
    • Be the “go to person” on each of their client account teams with little assistance from the directors. Knows when and when not to escalate issues or problems to the directors.
    • Help build up direct reports to be able to work independently
    • Support design/develop analytics and optimization plans
    • Actively listen to needs of others to understand and provide accurate information or solutions.
  • Support the Analytics team
    • Cross train other team members within the department
    • Actively manage analysts and their workload
    • Share new findings, tools, code, etc. with the department

What makes a great Manager, Analytics at our agency?

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, statistics), Business/Marketing or Computer Science OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years’ experience providing marketing analytics support and solutions
  • Experience with digital and offline analytics and reporting
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Intimate knowledge of web analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe)
  • Experience analyzing paid/organic social data, and deep familiarity with reporting on core social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Experience with SEM platforms such as Google Ads and Bing
  • Experience with Linear & CTV data + measurement methodologies (ACR, spike attribution, incrementality experiments, MMM, etc)
  • Dashboard software mastery (Adverity, PowerBI or Tableau)
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools or automation to support analytics workflows, reporting QA, insight generation, or operational efficiency
  • Proficient statistical programming skills (R, SQL, or Python)

Target Base Salary: $100 - $128K

Base salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and needs of the business. Base salary is one part of our total compensation package, which includes benefits, perks, and a profit-sharing bonus.
