Are you ready to join the programmatic evolution?
Index Exchange is seeking a Manager, Account Management to join our US HoldCo team. In this role, you will lead a team of two Account Managers while maintaining direct ownership of key agency and marketer partnerships. You will balance hands-on client delivery with coaching responsibilities — ensuring consistent service standards, timely execution, and strong collaboration across the team. Acting as a trusted partner, you’ll proactively address client needs, solve challenges, and surface opportunities for growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, excels at building relationships, and is passionate about developing others.

What we’re looking for:
  • Strategic: IX values partnerships and providing strategic insights to the agencies and marketers who leverage our exchange. In this role, you will be responsible for not only day-to-day account management and operations, but also for providing insights and recommendations to our external stakeholders around the programmatic ecosystem as a whole. You’ll bring a strong point of view and help your team do the same.
  • Collaborative: In order to retain and grow our agency accounts, you will work cross-functionally with sales, analytics, technical teams, and publisher account teams to become a subject matter expert on the IX Platform. You’ll also foster that same collaborative spirit within your team, creating an environment of shared learning and accountability.
  • Communicative: You will be working with a number of clients and internal stakeholders at any given time, and will be expected to communicate effectively both internally and externally. This is a highly visible, client-facing role where building trusted relationships with agencies and marketers is essential. You’ll also serve as a clear, confident voice that elevates the work of your team.
  • People-First Leader: You bring a people-leadership mindset to everything you do. You guide day-to-day operations, provide mentorship, and help create a culture of accountability and growth. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, modeling adaptability for your team, and stepping in where needed to ensure your partners receive exceptional service.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Manage and develop a team of two Account Managers, providing ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development support.
  • Maintain direct ownership of a portfolio of key agency and marketer partnerships, delivering exceptional service and strategic guidance.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for existing agency and brand marketer partners, while delivering expertise in the IX platform.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to clients to help them solve challenges and capitalize on opportunities within the programmatic landscape.
  • Partner with business development to support new business efforts and evangelize the Index Exchange brand in market.
  • Collaborate with publisher account teams to identify and secure new deal opportunities, as well as ensure the health and growth of existing deals.
  • Guide your team through ambiguous situations and evolving client needs, modeling a solutions-oriented, bias-for-action mindset.
  • Attend relevant industry events and entertain partners in innovative ways that foster engagement and strategic account growth.
  • Forecast revenue growth across your team’s book of business and track delivery against targets and OKRs.
  • Lead and participate in regular knowledge share sessions, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Here's what you need:
  • 6+ years of experience in digital media, with an in-depth understanding of the programmatic advertising landscape (e.g. ad server, ad network, exchange, SSP, DSP, agency trading desk, PMP, etc.).
  • 1-2 years of experience managing direct reports, with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable.
  • Proven experience working with large agencies; experience with Dentsu or WPP is a strong plus.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment — you’re comfortable operating without a perfect playbook and can bring clarity and direction to your team when needed.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills — ability to be clear and compelling when presenting internally and externally, with the ability to tailor your message to different audiences.
  • Expert-level adaptability: you navigate change with confidence and help others do the same.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across clients and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to leverage data and analytics to solve customer problems and drive strategic recommendations.
  • Goal-oriented approach to client management — you are constantly seeking opportunities to add value, build relationships, and deliver actionable insights that grow revenue.
  • Strong program management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines across a complex portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and other CRM/analytics tools (e.g. DOMO, Looker); advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or a technology-related field.

Salary: The base salary range for this role is USD $125,000 - $165,000. The total compensation package may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
