Management Accountant
Location: Gloucester Head Office with hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full time. 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus benefits
Mears Group is looking for a Management Accountant with strong practical experience to join our Central Finance team.
You will produce accurate management accounts, analyse financial performance and support forecasting and budgeting across multiple branches. You will also work with finance and non-finance stakeholders, providing clear financial information to support business decisions.
This role would suit someone with solid Management Accounts experience who is looking to develop their commercial finance skills and broaden their experience.
About the Role
- Produce monthly management accounts accurately and within deadlines
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet control accounts
- Analyse financial performance and investigate variances
- Provide financial insight to finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Analyse and manipulate financial data using Excel
- Support business units to improve efficiency and profitability
- Challenge financial data and systems to identify issues and improve accuracy
Key Criteria
- Strong practical experience in Management Accounts
- Experience analysing financial performance, investigating variances and producing financial information for stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work with finance and non-finance colleagues
- Proactive and inquisitive approach
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification would be beneficial
