Malibu’s Process Engineering team is seeking a student for a 12-month Internship opportunity. The student must live near or be willing to relocate within driving distance from the plant that is in Loudon, TN. Start/completion dates listed below:
- Start date: January 2027. Completion date: December 2027
As part of Malibu’s Process Engineering team, students will have the opportunity to assist in the generation, validation, and development of new production processes and innovations for Malibu Boats and Axis Wake products. The students will work with Malibu’s Safety, Quality, Production, and Design teams and report to Malibu’s Process Engineering Lead. The position includes responsibilities that will allow students to build upon their current engineering foundation and passion for the marine industry and water sports. They will be challenged to identify opportunities for safety improvements, quality improvements, manufacturing process improvements, and implementation of new designs.

QualificationsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Minimum of 1 year towards a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, electrical, or related engineering field
• Computer design experience in CAD modeling (AutoCAD, Siemens NX, and Solidworks) preferred
• Microsoft Experience (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Strong skills with hand tools and mechanical devices required

• Lift/carry up to 50lbs
• Frequently climb in/out of boats on trailers and at boat ramps
• Crawl in/out of small spaces in boats (i.e. engine compartment)
• Frequently bend at waist; squat; climb ladders and stairs; kneel on ground; reach above shoulder
Work Environment:
• Typical 8 to 10-hour workdays, 5 days/week with occasional overtime
• Required to work indoors and outdoors, year-round, and in all weather conditions
• Independent and collaborative work environments are both common
Skills Required
- At least one year completed toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, or related engineering
- CAD modeling experience using AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong skills with hand tools and mechanical devices
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently climb in and out of boats, crawl into small spaces, bend, squat, kneel, climb ladders and stairs, and reach overhead
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Ability to work typical 8- to 10-hour workdays, five days per week, with occasional overtime
- Live near or relocate within driving distance of the Loudon, Tennessee plant
