Mika in Coral Gables, led by Chef Michael White, is seeking a polished, hospitality-driven Maitre D’ to oversee and elevate the guest experience while supporting front-of-house operations in a refined, upscale dining environment. The Maitre D’ serves as the first and last impression of the restaurant, managing reservations, coordinating seating flow, cultivating VIP guest relationships, and ensuring every guest receives gracious, personalized hospitality. This role also acts as a brand ambassador for Mika within the local community and hospitality network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
  • Manage reservations using reservation platforms such as OpenTable or Resy
  • Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize flow, pacing, and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate wait times and communicate clearly with guests
  • Build meaningful relationships with VIP guests, regular clientele, and high-profile visitors
  • Anticipate guest preferences and recognize individual needs to create personalized experiences
  • Engage with guests throughout service to ensure exceptional hospitality standards are maintained
  • Support front-of-house operations during service while maintaining poise and professionalism in a fast-paced upscale environment
  • Collaborate closely with management, servers, and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service execution
  • Handle guest concerns and service recovery situations with professionalism and urgency
  • Represent Mika at local events, networking functions, and promotional activations to build brand awareness and community relationships
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hotel concierges, luxury residential teams, local businesses, and hospitality partners
  • Work closely with the company’s marketing and concierge teams to enhance guest outreach, VIP experiences, and promotional initiatives
  • Assist in coordinating special events, VIP reservations, and private dining experiences
  • Maintain the appearance and organization of the host stand and entrance area at all times
  • Assist in training and mentoring host team members
  • Uphold the restaurant’s standards of luxury hospitality, professionalism, and presentation
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a Maitre D’, Lead Host, Guest Relations professional, or similar hospitality role in upscale or fine dining
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a naturally engaging personality
  • Experience working with VIP guests and high-touch hospitality environments preferred
  • Professional appearance and polished demeanor
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Experience with reservation management systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality etiquette and guest relations
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional events
