Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Execution of Quality Inspections:

In collaboration with the MAIT and Product
Assurance team, define and execute inspection control activities at:

  • Incoming

  • Key stages of manufacturing, assembly, integration & testing.

  • Before release to customers or next integration phase.

Nonconformance Management

  •  Support the detection, documentation and containment of nonconformances.

  • Assist in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and follow up on rework or repair implementation and verification.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions in coordination with engineering and MAIT.

Quality Assurance support in Operations:

  •  Provide day-to-day quality support to MAIT.

  • Review and approve MAIT procedures.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, space and aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100).

  • Qualification of Special processes based in EN9100 (e.g: welding, Non-Destructive Testing, etc). Desirable experience with welding.

  • Train MAIT staff on quality procedures and best practices.

  • Calibration coordination.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead quality improvement projects to enhance process stability and product quality.

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve product quality.

  • Analyze quality data and generate reports to track trends and identify areas for improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of quality standards (e.g., EN/AS9100, ISO 9001).

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques (visual, dimensional, electrical), and GD&T.

  • Experience with nonconformance management systems and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa).

  • Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, and statistical analysis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and desirable experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
