About the Department
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees.
FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team. This position is being posted at level one, but exceptional candidates who meet the qualifications may be considered for placement at level two.
The Position
Manage planned maintenance backlog to drive efficiencies in the maintenance organization. Support a specific functional area, e.g., Utilities, Aseptic Production, Assembly/Packaging, or Warehouose Operations. Act as SME for maintenance plan creation and revisions. Collaborate with key maintenance, storeroom, and operations stakeholders to establish planned maintenance program for greenfield project.
Relationships
Reports to Senior Manager.
Essential Functions

  • Maintain SAP master data & maintenance plans for assigned processes
  • Prepare PM work packages for maintenance technicians to include required documents, parts & specialized tools
  • Process confirmation of preventive maintenance (PMs)
  • Work with logistics & operations to schedule planned maintenance activities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of preventive maintenance tasks & frequencies
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance tactics & strategies
  • Participate in work order reviews to identify recurring failures
  • Document review to include Non-Conformity (NC) support, Change Request (CR) support & SOP review
  • Support reliability team response activities for assigned process(es), to include documenting identified problems & working to provide quick resolution
  • Participate in plant Closedown Team planning & execution
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver's license.
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • May consider an associate's degree from an accredited university with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance/engineering field or equivalent military/industrial training required
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in maintenance/engineering field or equivalent military/industrial training required, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Knowledgeable in at least one of the following systems/utilities required: HVAC, aseptic processes, automated assembly, automated packaging, compressed air, steam, chilled water, pharmaceutical utilities, fermentation, sterilization, water purification preferred
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or control systems preferred
  • Excellent maintenance craft skills preferred
  • Knowledgeable in fundamentals of Clean and/or reliability excellence preferred
  • Computer Literacy: Excellent computer skills to include SAP & Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
  • Ability to demonstrate a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting preferred
  • Attention to detail, ability to think critically & sequentially with proven time management skills preferred
  • Demonstrable experience with the planning of maintenance activities preferred
  • Excellent communication skills preferred
