Job Description:
This job is responsible for tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include creating infrastructure tools and their integration as a service, facilitating deployment of technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include looking for opportunities to improve efficiency when implementing and maintaining tools/services and embracing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- The System Automation technical team(LSA) supports the IBM System Automation Z/OS, Automation NETVIEW and GDPS-CA tool set and tasks and their associated automation process, programming and policy database. Candidate should have a minimum of 7 years’ experience with deep knowledge of the Mainframe z/OS operating system and a higher-level understanding of Mainframe System Automation and Mainframe operations.
- Responsibilities include configuration, maintenance, and support of IBM System Automation for ZOS, GDPS-CA technology .
- A complex understanding of REXX programming and Pipes Programming experience are required.
- Requires minimum to no supervision and work as a team member. Write and maintain documentation and perform other duties as necessary.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and provide technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor.
- Develop programs in languages such REXX, PIPES for Automation initiatives. Must be able to communicate across differing audiences including technical, managerial and vendors.
- Can develop technical solution requirements and lead individual or small team initiatives when required.
- Participate in On call Support .
Responsibilities:
- Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies and assists Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
- Assists with translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
- Assists in the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose
- Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
- Conducts on-site evaluations of third-party products being considered for firm adoption
- Promotes an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
- Contributes to the creation/selection of functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements within and across domains

Required Qualifications:
- This position will require after hours support and some weekend and holiday hours
- Candidate must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience with Mainframe z/OS operating system
- Must have LPAR experience
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables with various time and date deliveries
- Working Mainframe REXX programming experience. Solid understanding of PIPES.
- Solid Experience of IBM System Automation ZOS.
- Ability to write and maintain documentation
- Mainframe z/OS, JCL, TSO, ISPF knowledge
- Ability to work closely with clients to automate processes to solve client issues.
- Deep knowledge of IBM Utilities i.e. IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, etc.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with system programmers, application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff.
