PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safely operate most types of machine tools that include but are not limited to engine lathes, manual
milling machines, horizontal boring mills, surface grinders, and radial arm drilling machines, etc.
2. Perform basic layout work in accordance with engineering drawings or sketches.
3. Able to work unsupervised to make needed minor repairs to production supporting dies and/or
machines.
4. Troubleshoot minor tooling problems(3), complex tooling or machining problems plant wide(4) .
5. Supervised(3,4) /Unsupervised(5) operation of some CNC machines used in the making of complex
tooling.
6. Minor editing of CNC programs under supervision (4), writing and editing CNC programs (5)
7. Designing and making special purpose tools (5)
8. Other duties as assigned.
9. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
2. Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school
diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to read tape measure accurately.
3. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
4. Basic trigonometric functions(3), complex math computations involving decimals, fractions, and
evaluating trigonometric functions is US customary and SI units(4).
5. Familiar with CNC programming languages
6. (3) 30 months experience, (4,5) 48 months experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials
up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not
limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves.
PPE REQUIRED
Safety glasses, ear protection, steel toed boots, and gloves. Use of grinder/cutting torch or welding
equipment requires face shield or goggles.
