In this role, you combine hands-on software engineering with real-world machine interaction, contributing directly to high-impact applications in semiconductor manufacturing and astronomy. What you will do
As a Machine Software Engineer, you are part of the Software & Controls team within the Development & Engineering department. You work in a multidisciplinary environment where software, physics, and mechatronics come together.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop robust software that enables customers to operate high-precision machines effectively
- Work across the full software stack, with an initial focus on integrating existing systems into the QED platform
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Netherlands and the United States on architecture and implementation
- Contribute to improving and extending the functionality of existing systems
- Test and validate your software directly on machines in a hands-on environment

- Salary between €4,000 – €4,700 gross per month (based on experience)

What you bring
You are a pragmatic and structured Machine Software Engineer who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary, hands-on environment. You communicate clearly, collaborate easily, and like to see your work come to life in real machines.
Your profile includes:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related engineering field
- 3–5 years of experience in software development
- Strong experience with C# (preferred) or Java
- Experience with MVVM frameworks (e.g., WPF)
- Willingness to work with (and maintain) WinForms
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
Nice to have:
- Experience in multidisciplinary environments (hardware + software)
- Familiarity with .NET Framework and .NET Core
