The Leveraged Engineer will collaborate with Qnity resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business challenges.  This individual will also be a member of the SWAT team, responding rapidly to critical business issues in Asia pacific region, such as equipment failure leading to plant shutdowns, manufacturing limitations restricting rates, or other urgent matters impacting production or revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, leading, and implementing programs, systems, processes, and equipment upgrades that improve machine safety and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitoring machine and equipment performance with a focus on safety and troubleshooting safety-related issues.
  • Analyzing safety-related equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements for achieving the lowest life cycle cost while maximizing machine safety.
  • Identify and advocate for best practices in the design, operation, and maintenance of machine safety systems. This includes adhering to relevant national and international standards that safeguard machinery.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams throughout procurement, fabrication, and installation phases to verify that machine safety standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Support the creation and continual improvement of corporate engineering standards involving machine safety and mechanical design, ensuring these standards remain up-to-date and effective.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related field coupled with a minimum of 7 years’ experience primarily in plant technical support or design of equipment and systems.
  • Strong background in machine safety evaluations, design, and assessments.
  • Proficiency in engineering documentation and familiarity with capital project execution.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and RAGAGEPs (e.g., ANSI, ISO, EN Standards)
  • Able to travel occasionally within the Asia Pacific region to support project needs. (up to 50% of time)
  • In-depth understanding of the S1M Machine Safety Management Program and Local and International Machine Safety Standards.
  • Must be fluent in writing and speaking both English and Chinese.
  • Location must be in China with preference near the Qnity Shenzhen or Shanghai Technical Center
