Machine Learning Intern Job Description:
The Intuit Credit Karma Intern Program is a 7-11 week paid internship located in Charlotte, NC. During your internship, you will be placed into a team where you will work on various projects to help Credit Karma fulfill our mission to make financial progress possible for everyone. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in weekly meetings, team outings, events, and engage in discussions with Credit Karma leadership. Join one of our Machine Learning teams as an Intuit-Credit Karma Machine Learning Intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience at the forefront of the AI transformation of products and experiences. You'll partner with our full-time Machine Learning Engineers to tackle complex challenges, building and optimizing the machine learning models that ensure our product remains intuitive and reliable for millions of users.
Please Note: Our summer 2026 internship program will be hosted in-person in Charlotte, NC.
What you’ll do:
- End-to-End Machine Learning Project Delivery: Receive hands-on experience in the entire ML lifecycle—from data collection, feature engineering, model development, and validation to production deployment and monitoring.
- Contribute to ML Platform Infrastructure: Engage with Credit Karma's custom MLOps framework and tools, focusing on capabilities like feature serving, model lifecycle management, and continuous improvement for better personalization.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Engage with various teams throughout the Intuit - Credit Karma ecosystem, learning how different functions contribute to our shared mission and build valuable professional relationships that expand your network.
- Innovate and Problem-Solve: Apply and explore new methods in machine learning, tackling real-world, high-impact problems to develop innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Accelerated Learning & Ownership: Take ownership of a significant project, managing it from initial concept through to successful delivery within the internship timeframe, while immersed in a high-performing ML team.

- Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Machine Learning or a closely related technical discipline. We require that you have a graduation date at least 4 months after the end of the internship.
- Foundational Machine Learning Skills: Must be proficient in statistical concepts and methodologies, possess data transformation and ETL experience with both Python and SQL techniques, and have an understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning).
- Familiarity with ML Technologies: Proficiency in Python Libraries and Training technologies leveraged for ML, (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, DataFlow & Flink) is essential. We are also looking for those who have exposure to these ML & Feature Platform Technologies including (Vertex AI, Kubeflow, BigQuery, Dataproc, & Bigtable).
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the duration of the internship
- In Office Requirements: 2026 Interns must be able to work onsite for a minimum of 3 days per week from our office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
