The Role

The Role:
As a Machine Learning and Generative AI Developer Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning and generative artificial intelligence solutions. This internship offers a hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing exposure to real-world projects with Kyndryl clients that leverage advanced algorithms to solve complex problems. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the intersection of machine learning and generative AI.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Algorithm Prototyping: Assist in the design and implementation of machine learning models and generative algorithms for various applications, including but not limited to image generation, natural language processing, and data synthesis.

• Data Preprocessing: Collaborate with the team to preprocess and clean datasets, ensuring they meet the requirements for effective model training and evaluation.

• Model Training and Evaluation: Participate in the training and evaluation of machine learning models, providing support in optimizing parameters and assessing model performance. Work closely with industry SMEs and clients to tune model parameters to achieve desired business outcomes.

• Research Support: Contribute to literature reviews and stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning and generative AI, providing insights that can enhance project development.

• Code Development: Assist in coding and scripting tasks related to model development, data analysis, and experimentation, following best practices and coding standards.

• Collaborative Projects: Engage in cross-functional collaboration with team members, contributing ideas and solutions to address challenges in ongoing projects.

• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of code, models, and experimental results, facilitating knowledge transfer and future reference.

Who You Are

Who You Are:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in machine learning, such as Python or R. Must be aware of Object-oriented Programming concepts.

• Machine Learning Frameworks: Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application in model development. Knowledge of finetuning open-source Language Models is a plus

• Data Processing: Basic understanding of data preprocessing techniques and data manipulation skills. Knowledge of writing SQL / NOSQL procedures is plus

• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and contribute innovative ideas to the team.

• Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas, share findings, and collaborate with team members.
