The Role

Who We Are
At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.
M365 Senior Engineer  at Kyndryl are the backbone of our Digital Workplace. Our collaboration and productivity platforms are engineered to world‑class standards, and we continuously evolve them in partnership with Microsoft and our internal architecture community. As M365 Collaboration Senior Engineer, you will set the direction of the M365 roadmap, guide technical solutioning, and manage development and project resources where appropriate to bring best‑in‑class services to life. You will ensure that designs are reviewed and endorsed by the relevant architectural boards (TDA / ARB), that they dovetail with wider CIO initiatives and platform stakeholder needs, and that every solution remains compliant with our control framework.
You will be involved early—when ideas are still forming—to assess what should be done and what can be done, to surface technical and timeline risks up front, and to shape the plan that takes an initiative from concept to reliable, secure, and supportable reality. You will work across the CIO team to align priorities and sequence delivery, partner closely with Microsoft on early adoption of new capabilities, and champion excellence in areas such as identity and access, security and compliance, governance, and device and application management. Beyond delivering solutions, you will educate, train, and mentor colleagues throughout the group so they better understand and support holistic M365 strategies that serve our 90,000+ colleagues globally.
There are two halves to this role. First, leading current programmes and projects where you analyse issues, steer solution design, test, refine, automate, and integrate systems—ensuring that documentation and diagrams enable clean hand‑offs to operations. Second, driving long‑range strategic planning for M365 collaboration engineering and operational execution—setting standards, codifying best practices, and designing the governance that keeps our platform resilient, secure, and compliant. While your focus is M365, the role isn’t tied to a single technology silo; you’ll bring a broad perspective across platforms and infrastructure so that decisions are made with full context.
This is a project‑based role with deep involvement across the lifespan of each initiative. You will collaborate closely with Architects, Technologists, and Project Managers, orchestrate delivery across teams, and manage resources where applicable to keep scope, quality, and timelines on track. You’ll balance client expectations with internal challenges, make visible contributions that others notice, and build trust through clear communication, crisp decision‑making, and consistent results. A frequent sign of success in this role is when stakeholders ask for the same leader by name—that’s the kind of impact you can have.
Your Future at Kyndryl
Kyndryl's focus on providing innovative IT solutions to our customers means that as a part of the Technical Specialist team, you’ll be working with the latest technology and will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills. Whether you progress your career to a Technical Leader and Principal or migrate to other technical career paths such as an Architect or Data Scientist – we have opportunities you won’t find anywhere else.
