We seek an Associate to join our Launchpad team as the third full-time member, working out of our West Coast office in Santa Monica, CA. This is an opportunity to get unparalleled experience in venture-building while continuing to help evolve our studio process & strategy.


M13’s Launchpad is our founder-led venture studio designed to launch world-class startups faster and with less risk. We identify big problems to solve, design and validate new business concepts in partnership with high-potential founders, and surround those teams with firm resources and unique advantages to scale successfully and efficiently.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Own the top of the funnel as the first point of contact between Launchpad and the M13 ecosystem, establishing and nurturing relationships with potential founders, advisors, early team members, and consultants.
  • Codify new inbound opportunities from both external and internal sources and lead our customer research efforts across sectors and ideas concurrently to identify and validate the problems most worth solving
  • Identify and integrate thought partners / SMEs into the ideation process for scalable solutions & business models
  • Support venture-building projects by identifying, networking with, and vetting potential talent and partnerships to package around new or existing concepts
  • Flexing both the left and right sides of the brain (think data-driven storytelling meets creative problem-solving)

What you Bring to the Role:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for consumer & B2B technologies and solving critical problems across a broad range of sectors
  • Operational mindset, able to juggle multiple projects & priorities with strong attention to the day-to-day details that drive our operating system
  • Data-driven & experimental approach, with “strong opinions, loosely held” and a “yes, and” mindset
  • A self-starter who is equally capable of working independently or collaboratively and is comfortable with significant ambiguity
  • Curious and analytical with a continuous improvement mindset

An Insider's view of M13

What are some social events your company does?

At least twice a year, M13 gets the team together for a week full of internal events and team building that we call "Dock-in". We have events such as trivia, scavenger hunts, ropes course, and team dinners, but the goal is ALWAYS to have fun and build connections outside of work.
