M&S/AI Engineer

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Simulation Developer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Knowledge of system integration, dynamic analysis capabilities, and a desire to mold MSVA processes and procedures are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.
This position is responsible for developing simulations to allow our teams to establish capability in the interface design, system design, and architecture layers of the system pyramid. The successful candidate will design, develop, and integrate simulations that enable testing, validation, and evaluation of subsystems, ensuring alignment with program requirements and coordinated designs. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify simulation needs, develop simulation models, and validate simulation results, utilizing expertise in simulation development, modeling, and programming languages such as C++, Python, or MATLAB.
This position will also work in collaboration with the AI Enabled Digital Engineering Team to look into new capabilities for AI tools using existing data to improve on the ways we work.

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional work experience or equivalent experience
• Experience in system simulations for message traffic
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C++, Python, Java, or MATLAB
• Experience with simulation software, such as Simulink, or HLA
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models using popular libraries and frameworks in Python (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras)
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to prepare data for AI/ML model development, ensuring that the data is in a suitable format for model training
• Implement AI/ML algorithms, including design, training, testing, verification, and validation activities.
• Develop and implement data pipelines to enable retrieval of data (e.g., on-premises databases).
• Develop and implement monitoring systems to ensure AI/ML model reliability and performance.
• Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging technologies in AI/ML, including advancements in deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Knowledge of Cameo systems modeler and/or SysML
• Ability to write well understood code documentation
• Knowledge of AI/ML tools related to code generation

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
