Job Summary
The LV Chargeman will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety compliance of all low-voltage electrical systems in the facility. The role ensures electrical reliability for production equipment and support systems in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LV electrical systems, including switchboards, transformers, distribution panels, UPS, and standby generators.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and reliable electrical supply for production and facilities systems.
- Monitor, inspect, and record the performance of electrical installations according to regulatory and company standards.
- Ensure all electrical activities comply with Electricity Supply Act 1990, ST regulations, and OSHA requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate work carried out by technicians, contractors, and service vendors.
- Maintain proper documentation, maintenance logs, and electrical drawings.
- Support facility expansion or equipment installation projects involving LV systems.
- Respond promptly to power outages, equipment failures, and emergency breakdowns.
- Participate in energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Valid Chargeman Certificate (A0 / A1 / A4) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) – mandatory.
- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in facilities operation or maintenance within semiconductor, electronics, or manufacturing environments.
- Good knowledge of LV distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and gensets.
- Familiar with safety procedures (LOTO, Permit-to-Work) and preventive maintenance practices.
- Able to interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
- Willing to work shift rotations, weekends, or on-call standby when required.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
