Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration of radiation therapy, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, reporting any changes to the healthcare team
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication management, and self-care strategies
- Support patients and their families emotionally and physically throughout their treatment journey
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid and current LPN license in the state of practice
- Prior experience in oncology or a related healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of cancer treatments, medications, and side effect management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
