JOB TITLE: Low Voltage Technician
GENERAL SUMMARY: Low Voltage Technician will be responsible to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems for commercial business. They will have hands-on experience with security cameras, access control systems, structured cabling, and related low-voltage technologies.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, program, test, and maintain CCTV/security camera systems.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and service calls for existing low-voltage systems.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling.
- Configure and troubleshoot network-connected security devices and NVR/DVR systems.
- Install access control, intercom, alarm, and related electronic security systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all installations comply with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Document work performed, service reports, and customer communications.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a professional manner.
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Previous experience in low-voltage installation and service is a plus.
- Working knowledge of CCTV cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and IP-based security systems.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing and switches.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments.
