Role and Responsibilities
- Create plans, schematics, equipment selections, load calculations, systems narratives and specifications, system design and layout, field investigation and construction administration
- Design building automation systems for large and/or complex buildings consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications and contract documents.
- Receive project specifications from sales team and designs associated system for installation.
- Perform hardware and software designs, develop sequence of operations, establish bill of material, determine network layouts, develop electrical schematics as required.
- Support and assist the field installation and commissioning of building automation/energy management, security, and/or fire detection and alarm systems in strict accordance with specifications and quality control.
- Prepares all required submittals and schedules subsequent hand-off to operations.
- May participate in initial job site walk through for assessment of current installations considered for retrofit or replacement.
- Provides support during debug, and qualification of the system
- Prepare due diligence and feasibility reports
- Reviews designs and/or programs for accuracy, feasibility, failure modes, etc.
- Interfaces with pre-construction team as required
- Follows safety rules and keeps work area in clean and orderly condition
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and one to three years of engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and field experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Position requires experience in preparation of contract drawings and specifications, field survey skills, performing calculations, and a thorough knowledge of building codes and standards
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems. “Hands on experience” with HVAC equipment and HVAC controls.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
- Must successfully pass a background check & drug test
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; alternatively, an associate's degree in engineering technology, related science, or completion of a technical school program
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC engineering control systems
- Proficiency with Honeywell, Siemens, or Johnson Controls product lines
- Experience designing HVAC control systems for healthcare, education, or industrial facilities
- Strong attention to detail and drawing skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Successfully pass a background check
