Job Summary
The Engineer II – Looker Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the Looker (Looker Studio/Looker Platform) environment. This role ensures platform reliability, drives best practices in semantic modeling and governance, and partners with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable, high-quality BI solutions.Job Description
This role is based in our downtown Philadelphia Comcast Technology Center.

Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, and maintain Looker instances, including user access, roles, permissions, folders, and content governance.
- Monitor Looker system performance, schedule management, and Looker PDT (Persistent Derived Table) rebuild cycles.
- Migration to Google Cloud Core
- Troubleshoot platform issues, manage incident resolution, and coordinate with Google Cloud support when needed.
- Implement and maintain version control, deployment processes, and Dev → Prod workflows using Git.
- Understand LookML models, views and reusable components
- Help maintain governance and security standards, ensuring correct data access.
- Support onboarding and basic training for new users.
- Provide support for BI tool users across the organization.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support business reporting needs.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, training materials, and process documentation.
- Help enforce BI governance standards
- Ensure compliance with internal data management and security policies
- Other functions as needed as it applies to the BI tools
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
- 2–4 years of experience with Looker administration or BI platform support.
- Proficiency with LookML, SQL, data modeling, and working with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
- Familiarity with Git- based version control for BI environments
- Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD processes for BI environments.
- Experience troubleshooting dashboard performance and modeling issues.
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform environments
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash)
- Understanding of BI governance, security roles
- Background in supporting enterprise BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
