Role OverviewHTL is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping shipments moving with precision, speed, and accountability. This is a role for someone who thrives in the details, communicates clearly, and takes ownership from pickup to delivery. As an individual contributor, the Logistics Coordinator manages daily shipment execution across both FTL and LTL modes, ensuring on-time delivery, SLA compliance, and strong customer service.
This position will be based out of our office in Charlotte, North Carolina, reporting to the Director of Operations, Freight Services.
Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Key Responsibilities (Including, But Not Limited To)Shipment Coordination: Work with sales representatives to ensure all shipper loads are covered by qualified carriers with appropriate equipment and insurance.
Rate Quotation: Build and deliver competitive rate quotes aligned with customer needs and company objectives.
TMS Management: Enter loads, appointments, and shipment data into HTL’s Transportation Management System (TMS) according to company procedures.
Own TMS data integrity by performing multiple daily audits to verify accuracy, proactively identify and correct data-entry or scheduling errors, and ensure shipment information remains complete and up to date.
Documentation: Prepare, process, and review shipping documentation prior to distribution.
Claims Handling: Complete pre-claim paperwork for loss/damage and shortage claims, resolving concerns and complaints.
Tracking & Reporting: Track and trace shipments, proactively communicating updates and resolving issues before they escalate.
Carrier Relationships: Proactively establish and maintain carrier partnerships to expand opportunities with HTL’s customer base.
Customer Service: Provide excellent service by anticipating needs, answering questions, resolving issues, and addressing concerns professionally.
Market Awareness: Maintain awareness of business and market trends, including pricing and capacity fluctuations in the market.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with leadership to identify workflow improvements that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required:
1–4 years of experience in LTL operations or a major in Supply Chain Management with LTL internship experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and logistics technology platforms (TMS and CORSAIR)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
Customer service experience
