Group Overview 

Special Air Missions Group (SAM) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Special Mobility, and Aerial Firefighting (AFF) capabilities. SAM oversees the integration of new mission systems, ensuring operational readiness across specialized aviation operations. It manages fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships to enhance mission effectiveness. By consolidating expertise and infrastructure, SAM ensures Metrea’s airborne capabilities remain adaptable and mission-ready across dynamic operational environments.

Position Summary 

This Logistics Specialist is responsible for the support of material readiness, inventory and accountability of all corporate materials, aviation parts, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), tools, and commercial products as well as providing pricing and procurement solutions including customs and ITAR import and export processes in foreign countries in support of international deployed operations.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including conducting monthly inventories of all items (excluding weapons and classified/COMSEC material).
  • Manage the receipt, tracking, storage, and shipment of equipment and materials in compliance with customs regulations, ITAR requirements, and company policies, including operations in austere or logistically challenging locations.
  • Coordinate and execute rapid procurement of aircraft parts, ground support equipment (GSE), expendables, and other operational requirements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of parts and materials using defence and commercial freight channels compliant with Australian and partner‑nation requirements and CASA guidelines
  • Create, track, and manage shipment documentation, ensuring accurate status updates throughout the shipping and receiving process.
  • Initiate purchasing actions by creating purchase order requests within the company procurement system(AMOS).
  • Maintain adequate inventory of shipping and packaging materials required for operational support.
  • Support aircraft maintainers, program managers, and finance teams by providing accountability and status updates on procured items.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety, security, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive or controlled information.
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and accountability to meet program goals and deliverables.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to company values while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience 

  • Ideally 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

  • Forklift Operator’s Certificate 
  • Dangerous Goods by Air/Sea accreditation
  • Experience with ERP platforms preferred (AMOS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. You will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 14 days on-site followed by rotation off-site for 14 days. Rotation schedule might be adjusted in order to meet program requirements.

Work Location 
Learmonth, WA

Work Environment  
During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations

Travel  
Travel requirements are 50% 

Skills Required

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Forklift Operator's Certificate
