JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

POET Biofuels is a global leader in the energy and agricultural space. We started as a supplier of fuel ethanol and have grown into a multi-commodity marketing and transportation company providing solutions in fuels, grains, and carbon dioxide markets. The Logistics Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring reliable shipments from production facilities to customers across diverse industries. This position serves as a key link between plant operations, transportation providers, internal commercial teams, and customers to coordinate shipments, manage inventory positions, and support uninterrupted product supply.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to supply chain management, logistics coordination, inventory planning, customer account management and interaction, and commercial operations within a fast-paced energy and commodity environment.

This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY

  • Coordinate daily shipments from production facilities to customer locations.
  • Schedule and optimize transportation resources to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
  • Work directly with carriers, dispatchers, and terminal personnel to manage shipment execution and resolve transportation challenges.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, service disruptions, or changing customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years’ experience in a corporate transportation/scheduling role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, data analysis and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or after-hours as business needs require.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (less than 10% of the time).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using ERP, inventory management systems, and excel-based tools and analytics.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, dispatching, scheduling, supply chain, commodity marketing, or customer operations.
  • Experience working within the energy, agricultural, manufacturing, industrial gas, or commodity industries.
