On behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing company with more than 50 years of successful presence in the industry, based in Chalkida, Greece, we are looking for a Logistics Operations Specialist to join the team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the company’s supply chain operations, with primary responsibility for coordinating loading and transportation activities, managing and developing relationships with transport providers, and ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective distribution of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate daily loading and transportation operations.
  • Plan and organize deliveries to ensure timely and efficient product distribution.
  • Manage relationships with transport providers, including transportation agreements, supplier evaluation, and price negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable network of transport partners to ensure vehicle availability and optimal transportation solutions.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth execution of deliveries.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any issues arising during the transportation process.
  • Manage transportation documentation and ensure accuracy of relevant records.
  • Evaluate transport providers’ performance and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
  • Support the improvement of logistics processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain operation.
  • Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to monitor logistics activities and performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in transportation management, carrier negotiations, and cost optimization.
  • Good knowledge of the transportation market and ability to develop a strong network of external partners.
  • Experience with ERP systems and logistics management tools.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze operational data and costs.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong experience in transportation management, carrier negotiations, and cost optimization.
