Amentum is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team for a program located in McLean, VA. The Logistics Manager provides leadership and direction for the Logistics Department of a program located in McLean, VA. The Department consists of material storage and distribution, property and asset control, mail services, vehicle fleet management and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the successful operation for all aspects of the Logistics Dept. with responsibility for the following tasks:
Personnel Management: With direct oversight of approximately 10 personnel, the manger is responsible for all administrative tasks such as recruiting, performance evaluations, mentoring, tasking, and timecards.
Warehouse Operations: Ensure materials are received, stored, and delivered in accordance with customer policies and procedures. Become familiar with customers to ensure superior customer service is provided by the warehouse team.
Government regulations: Manage the maintenance and repairs to the destruction equipment. Ensure personnel operating the equipment utilize assigned safety equipment. Coordinate recycling program for destroyed material.
Property and Asset management: Provide oversight to the property team. Track metrics to ensure all accountable property is tagged and accounted for per regulations through Genesis and Ascent databases
Fleet management: Provide oversight of the program fleet, which consists of leased vehicles, material handling equipment and cars. Maintain operational readiness scheduling repairs, state inspections, recalls, registration and tags with complete client visibility to cost expenditure.
Mail Handling services: Provide oversight of mail receiving, inspection and distribution. Includes Federal Express, UPS, etc. sending and receiving.
Support program management developing data driven reports. Develop new business concepts and prepare proposals for submission to the customer.
Maintain supporting records related to property transactions of accountable, furnished, real and personal property as directed by the (FAR) Federal Acquisition Regulation and customer directed regulations
Coordinate employee uniform ordering and changes per program Union Agreements
Coordinate and conduct reoccurring inventory audits for assets and client issued equipment
Minimum Qualifications
10 years of experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, inventory control, supply chain management, mail, and courier services.
Familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Monitoring System) Maximo
Must be familiar with current systems/ methodology. Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
Work Environment
Typical warehouse and material handling hazards to include forklift and other material handling equipment. Must possess planning/organizing/computer skills and must be able to work under deadlines
