What you’ll be doing; 

  • Plan and optimise daily scheduling of artic and RoRo movements to maximise fuel/mileage efficiency

  • Monitor driver workloads in real time using tracking software to ensure all work is completed each day

  • Coordinate and supervise the haulage team to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant operation

  • Create tickets and daily driver sheets; manage the tablet-based ticketing system and drivers’ devices via remote access

  • Reconcile daily activity (loads, tonnage moved, fuel used, distance travelled) and capture accurate info via end-of-shift debriefs

  • Manage holiday planning to minimise reliance on third-party hauliers

  • Support inductions, refresher training, toolbox talks and safety alerts

  • Implement contractor controls via the permit system

  • Investigate incidents/accidents and upload reports to AVA

  • Provide proactive customer communication and written responses to enquiries/complaints

  • Support the Logistics Manager with recruitment, onboarding and engagement initiatives

  • Contribute to performance/KPI delivery and follow all Veolia policies and procedures

What we're looking for;

  • Proven experience in logistics/transport coordination, planning or fleet operations (haulage environment preferred)

  • Strong working knowledge of safety, compliance and legal requirements within transport operations

  • Confident using scheduling/tracking systems and digital ticketing tools; strong admin and attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise, make decisions under pressure and manage changing plans in real time

  • Clear communicator with a customer-focused approach (written and verbal)

  • Comfortable supervising drivers/contractors and supporting training/toolbox talks

  • Experience handling incident reporting and investigations (or willingness to learn)
