Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipment activities.
- Liaise with departments to ensure timely arrivals of shipments and authorize premium freight when necessary.
- Manage freight costs using the Freight Predictability Tracking Matrix and strive for cost savings.
- Maintain logistics procedures and ensure IATF/Magna compliance.
- Conduct market testing for new carriers and complete freight studies for efficiency improvements.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., USMCA, COO, MA, ALAA).
Materials Planning:
- Manage component and WIP supply in a JIT environment, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Execute MRP processes, review supplier releases, and initiate inventory and freight reduction initiatives.
- Communicate any supply interruptions to the Materials Manager and production team.
- Participate in cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and the annual physical inventory.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure adherence to delivery windows and packaging requirements.
Production Scheduling:
- Generate and update production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
- Coordinate rework, new product launches, and engineering changes to minimize disruptions.
- Audit daily production performance against the plan and generate schedule attainment reports.
- Continuously improve scheduling systems and assist with year-end physical inventory.
Inventory Management:
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records, including CMI inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and prepare inventory reports.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Manage inventory levels to meet departmental and company goals, focusing on reducing slow-moving items.
- Maintain vendor and inventory data and oversee supplier returns and debit memos.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with all QMS, EMS, and health and safety standards.
- Promote adherence to AODA and C-TPAT procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, focusing on logistics, materials management, and inventory accuracy.
- Adhering to all the ISO/IATF 16949 policies and procedures
- Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work
- Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT, and TISAX procedures that apply to their position
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, materials planning, or inventory management, preferably in an automotive environment.
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Flexibility to work overtime and be on call as required.
