The Logistics Analyst is a detail-oriented position requiring focus, precision, and critical thinking. This person will support the Logistics department by executing a variety of processes in a timely manner to ensure customer demands are met. The position will interact with multiple departments including Sales, Customer Experience, Planning, and the Shipping Warehouse. The position will need to work with external partners such as carriers and third-party warehouses. The position must be able to learn and adapt existing knowledge in a constantly changing landscape to meet and exceed departmental on-time delivery metrics. With minimal oversight, employees in this position may interact with their leader daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day activities in the Transportation Management System to ensure loads are tendered, information is entered correctly, reports are run, and carriers are paid.
- Run reports in the Transportation Management System and monitor emails to identify and escalate sales orders and/or stock transfers that miss their pickup or delivery appointment or sales orders and/or stock transfers that are at risk of late delivery to prevent customer stock outs and shortages.
- Create the weekly shipping schedule by collaborating with the planning and shipping teams to ensure the shipping schedule aligns with the production runs and scheduled pickup times transit times to optimize third party warehouse appointment availability.
- Provide daily communication with carriers to ensure loads have entered appointments into the Transportation Management System and that carriers will meet their scheduled appointment times.
- Assist with the day-to-day activities for international orders when the Export Logistics Specialist is unavailable.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant work experience required; Logistics, Business, Applied Mathematics, Finance, or Computer Science preferred.
- At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in logistics or customer service required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)
- Proficient understanding of logistics, lead times, and common obstacles that could cause a carrier to not meet a customer's Must Arrive By Date.
- Proficient organization and communication skills are needed to ensure that the carrier, shipper, and King's team members are on the same page and understand customer expectations.
- Working knowledge of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning System.
- Working knowledge of e2open or other Transportation Management System.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
