Who’ll You Be Joining:
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a CPG environment managing both inbound and outbound product flow via air, ocean, rail & truck shipping. This is a high impact role where you will own end-to-end execution of product flow for your category.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Optimize Freight Costs: Monitor and analyze freight spend, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Carrier Negotiations: Work with the Logistics Manager to negotiate rates and review carrier contracts, ensuring the best terms for ecobee
- RFP Management: Conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for carriers as needed to secure competitive rates and services.
- Shipping Volume Forecasting: Submit accurate monthly shipping volume forecasts to carriers to ensure smooth operations.
- Budget Assistance: Assist in creating the annual outbound and office shipping budget, and provide monthly reports on cost per unit/department.
- Invoice Auditing: Audit freight invoices for accuracy and upload match files in the Freight Audit System (Trax), clearing exceptions for proper cost allocation.
- System Maintenance: Update rules and tables in the Freight Audit System as needed to reflect current operations.
- Cost Reporting: Update and distribute reports on outbound costs, including cost per channel/method, trends, and accruals, as well as monitor and report on office shipping costs.
- Invoice Reconciliation: Reconcile carrier open invoices with paid invoices to ensure timely closure.
- Shipping Documentation: Create shipping labels and paperwork for inter-departmental requests and cross-border shipments, including export declarations for shipments over $2,000 from Canada.
- Support for Outbound Orders: Assist the AS team with outbound order pick-ups, delays, and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
- Shipping Quotes: Provide accurate shipping quotes for various projects, including marketing initiatives.
- Label and Portal Management: Create CFT/EFT shipping labels, manage carrier portal setups, and handle batch shipments.
- Claims and Compliance: File and track claims with carriers, maintain an updated carrier database, and set up Denied-Party screenings.
- Environmental Impact: Collaborate on the development of a transportation emissions control database.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- You bring 3-5 years of experience as a Logistics Analyst or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of logistics operations.
- You excel at prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and clearly communicating project statuses.
- You work well in a team, have strong interpersonal skills, and can influence others even without direct authority.
- You have a keen eye for detail and are committed to quality and continuous process improvement.
- You’re familiar with working alongside third-party warehouses, carriers, and freight forwarders. Knowledge of import and export compliance is a plus.
- Experience developing and presenting reports
- Comfortable using Netsuite or a similar ERP & Trax or a similar freight audit software

Interview Process: 3 Rounds
- Round 1: A 45-minute phone interview with a Talent Acquisition team member.
- Case Study: A take-home case study with a 3-day completion window.
- Round 2: A 90-minute virtual interview with the Hiring Manager and VP of Operations, where you'll present your case study solution. Expect both technical and situational questions as well.
- Final Round: A 60-minute virtual interview with the Operations team, focusing on behavioral and situational questions.
