Messner Reeves LLP, a full-service national law firm, seeks a highly qualified Paralegal to join its fast-paced, complex litigation team in California.
Position Overview:
This position requires a high degree of interaction with firm partners, associates, and clients. Candidates should have good judgment and impeccable professionalism.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of paralegal experience.
- Must be well-versed in both federal and state court procedures.
- Communicate with team, witnesses, and opposing counsel to ensure complete information is gathered and organized in a timely fashion.
- Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.
- Knowledge of medical records and terminology is strongly preferred.
- Utilize electronic format to organize and index medical records and prepare detailed documents and other party records chronologies, identifying and obtaining missing records or materials.
- Experience in legal document preparation, particularly propounding and responding to discovery and preparing initial, expert, and supplemental disclosures.
- Experience tracking and recording time using Prolaw or similar legal billing software.
- Use communication, experience, docketed deadlines, and knowledge of civil procedure rules as a guide.
- Must possess strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and communicate effectively.
- The ideal candidate will be experienced, inquisitive, and a self-starter, able to anticipate needs in litigation matters through jury trial.
- Paralegal Certificate.
- Must be located in California.
