Job Description:
Quevera is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Laurel, Maryland. In this role, you will join an infrastructure team responsible for supporting customer requirements and development team needs across multiple hosting platforms, including OpenStack, AWS, and VMware, while administering Linux virtual machine environments.
Working alongside a collaborative engineering team, you will manage Linux virtual machines, maintain secure and compliant infrastructure, support DevOps initiatives, and ensure enterprise systems remain reliable, secure, and operational. This role offers the opportunity to work across modern cloud and virtualization technologies while expanding expertise in Linux systems administration, virtual machine management, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Linux virtual machines across multiple hosting platforms, including OpenStack, AWS, and VMware.
- Monitor the health and performance of production Linux virtual machines, including standalone systems and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Manage the server certificate lifecycle and support PKI certificate implementation as required.
- Install, update, and maintain software packages on Linux virtual machines using manual processes and YUM repositories.
- Ensure Linux systems remain compliant with current enterprise security requirements.
- Support customer requests ranging from routine virtual machine modifications to large-scale infrastructure deployments and cluster builds.
- Develop, execute, and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure configuration and system updates.
- Monitor and support Kubernetes clusters using Rancher and kubectl to ensure cluster health, node availability, and application performance.
- Collaborate with customers and development teams to support infrastructure requirements and ongoing operational needs.
- Troubleshoot Linux operating systems, virtual machines, and infrastructure-related issues while maintaining system availability and performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- Five (5) additional years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Ansible or infrastructure automation using Ansible.
- Experience managing and securing virtual machines within enterprise environments (STE/STN).
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
Desired Skills:
- Experience administering CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience managing PKI infrastructure and server certificates.
- Experience supporting Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2 and RDS.
- Experience supporting OpenStack environments.
- Experience administering VMware virtual infrastructure.
- Experience using Git for source control, including push, pull, and commit operations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative infrastructure team.
